Parisian Skincare Routine with Nuxe

This has become my new obsession. Before I even traveled to France this last time, my goal was to grab some amazing French products and get some expert advice in Paris. We went to one of the best French pharmacies in Paris , City Pharma. They have tons of incredibly helpful ladies who can help recommend products to target your particular skincare needs with products that are tried and true. To give you some background for this particular regimen, I'm in my mid-thirties and I have oily skin. If you're younger or older or have dry skin, you might want to switch up the products, but the concept of the routine stays the same.

The overall idea is that at night it when you use a stronger cleanser to wash off makeup and dirt and oils from the day. Add a serum to target any signs of aging, like fine lines and wrinkles (and for me, the pharmacist recommended adding this to even prevent wrinkles). Then finish it all out with a nice restorative night cream. Now in the morning, and this was the biggest eye opener for me, she recommended that I use a cream cleanser because you don't want to erase all the great work your serum and overnight moisturizer did while you slept. So a nice gentle cleanser in the morning to keep all those amazing benefits. Then you've got your toner, daily moisturizer and sunscreen.

Evening Skincare Routine

Step 1: Gel Cleanser

Let's just start with the best part of this whole skincare line, it smells AMAZING! It's beautifully floral without being overpowering. It truly makes you feel pampered and chic. This gel cleanser is fantastic at makeup removal and takes away all the grime of the day. My skin feels fresh and restored from the chaos of the day. This is definitely part of my self-care routine.

Step 2: Serum

This serum is magical. It targets all the things you're hoping for, fine lines, wrinkles, dark spot correction, you name it, she does it! It is an investment, but it's way cheaper than Botox. I have to say I've definitely noticed a difference in my skin and it's only been a few weeks of using it. My skin feel softer and the lines around my mouth have softened. Plus even a friend of mine commented that I look younger!

Step 3: Night Cream

Morning Skincare Routine

Step 1: Cream Cleanser

Like I mentioned early, this was the biggest change in my thought process for my skincare routine. When the pharmacist said, "you don't want to erase all the good work you've done overnight" with a strong cleanser in the morning. So now I'm a big proponent of using a gentle cream cleanser in the morning. It was definitely a change for me. I'm used to feeling like my skin is completely squeaky clean in the morning (aka stripped of all moisture). Especially for someone like me with oily skin, the less I strip out in the morning the less my skin has to make to restore all the natural oils in my face. Plus nice moisturized skin means fewer fine lines and wrinkles.

Step 2: Toner

Toner is often overlooked in most people's skincare lineups. I'll admit, I've had toner included in mine and then fallen out of using it, only to come back months later to add it back in. Sometimes it feels like just one more thing to add when I'm already pressed for time. But truly, you need a good toner. It helps balance the pH of your skin and preps it for moisturizer. And this toner from Nuxe hits all the right notes. It's not stinging, which I feel like some toners can be. It's very gentle and has so many added benefits.

Step 3: Cream-to-Powder Moisturizer

Now this is when the very nice Pharmacist took one look at my skin when I asked for a recommendation on a daily moisturizer and noticed I had oily skin. She said this is the best moisturizer as it applies as a cream then transforms to powder. It's just so cool. It creates this wonderful matte appearance to my skin and keeps everything nice and moisturized. I've cycled through tons of different daily moisturizers and this one is definitely my favorite.
