The Best French Beauty Products You Can Actually Buy In The U.S.
If you've ever wandered the aisles of a French pharmacy or scrolled through dreamy Pinterest boards filled with chic Parisian vanities, you've probably stumbled upon some cult-favorite French beauty products. And while the idea of booking a plane ticket to Paris just to get some of these products sounds like a perfect daydream, you don't have to travel all the way to France to make these part of your skincare routine.
Below, I’m sharing my favorite affordable French skincare staples—including the legendary A313—that you can actually buy in the U.S. These products are not only budget-friendly, but also incredibly effective, making them perfect additions to your self-care routine. While it is true these products are less expensive when purchased in France, when you factor in that plane ticket, you're probably better off purchasing some here. Plus you can try some of these products at home and the next time you're in France you could stock up on all your favorites!
This cult classic is one of France’s most beloved over-the-counter retinoids. Known for its powerful anti-aging benefits, A313 contains a vitamin A derivative that helps smooth fine lines, fade dark spots, and improve skin texture. It has a thick, ointment-like consistency and is best used at night, followed by a moisturizer. Try a small tester spot on your skin before fully committing if you have sensitive skin. While it isn't as irritating as other retinoids, it can be difficult on sensitive skin.
Why I Love It: It delivers noticeable results without the irritation that often comes with stronger prescription retinoids. And yes—you can buy the real deal in the U.S. through FrenchPharmacy.com or their official Amazon store.
2. Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water
A longtime favorite of makeup artists and models, this micellar water gently removes makeup, dirt, and oil without stripping the skin. It’s ideal for sensitive skin and doesn’t require rinsing. I use this every night to help remove all the makeup and grim from the day. Especially if I'm too tired to actually cleanse my face with cleanser, this gets my skin nice and clean.
Why I Love It: It’s a staple in my nighttime routine—gentle, effective, and leaves no residue.
3. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5
This multi-purpose soothing balm is a miracle worker for dry patches, irritation, and even post-procedure skin. It’s packed with panthenol (vitamin B5) to help skin heal and stay hydrated. Plus La Roche-Posay is just a favorite brand of mine overall. I have tons of their products and have yet to find something from them that I don't like.
Why I Love It: It's a great multipurpose product from a brand I absolutely love.
4. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil
A beautifully-scented multi-use oil for face, body, and hair. Infused with botanical oils, this dry oil nourishes without feeling greasy. I personally use pink floral Nuxe oil I included in the link above and I am obsessed with this. I use it mostly on the ends of my hair and it's the greatest thing I've ever found for helping dry, split ends. My hair also likes to get frizzy with humidity and this product helps a lot. Don't apply it too close to your roots as it can make your hair look greasy. And a little goes a long way. I just use two pumps and I have longer hair below my shoulders.
Why I Love It: It smells like a French summer. I use it on my legs for a subtle glow and in the ends of my hair for softness.
5. Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré
A rich yet lightweight moisturizer used by top makeup artists as a primer and hydrator. It’s great for dry or combination skin and layers beautifully under makeup. Great all around moisturizer and isn't too pricey either.
Why I Love It: It’s the perfect no-fuss moisturizer that makes my skin look plump and healthy.
Final Thoughts
French skincare is all about simplicity, effectiveness, and gentle elegance—and that’s why I love sharing it with you. Each of these products is under $50 and easy to order in the U.S., so you can bring a little piece of France to your daily routine.
